U15 P1 Hurling Shield Semi Final 2021-09-07 14:37:00

Inniscarra had a well deserved victory over Midleton in the Rebel Og Coiste Fe-15 Premier 1 Hurling Shield semi-final at Ballyanly last Saturday evening. Daniel O'Connor opened the scoring for Inniscarra with a well taken point to cancel Midleton's opening score but a goal for Midleton followed suggesting a close game was in store. A lovely flick by Michael Lyons got the ball to Conor O'Sullivan and his pass to Sean Murphy resulted in a free which Niall Buckley converted. Good defending by David Linehan got the ball to Darragh O'Brien and his pass to Cormac Dineen was beautifully transferred to Ronan O'Keeffe who sent the ball to the back of the Midleton net. A good stop by Ben Gleeson resulted in the ball reaching Colman Aherne whose clearance reached Sean Linehan and his pass to Ben O'Connell was inch perfect but the resulting shot on goal was just wide. Sean Murphy then played a lovely pass to Daniel O'Connor who scored a lovely point before a Midleton attack was halted by a good hook by Cormac Dineen.

First Half Water Break: Inniscarra 1 - 3, Midleton 1 - 1.

A long puck out by Ben Gleeson was fielded by Conor O'Sullivan who was fouled and Niall Buckley pointed the free. Great defending and a good clearance by Trevor O'Reilly got the ball to Darragh O'Brien whose clearance was picked up by Ryan Murphy and he passed to Ben O'Connell but his shot came back off the cross bar. A goal by Midleton left the score at half time Inniscarra 1 - 4, Midleton 2 - 1.

Niall Buckley and Cormac Dineen combined to get the ball up to Ronan O'Keeffe who was fouled with Niall Buckley pointing the free. Niall Buckley sent a long free up field after a foul on Colman Aherne which was played by Sean Linehan onto Sean Murphy and he was fouled with Niall Buckley pointing the free. A great catch and clearance by Trevor O'Reilly reached Ryan Murphy who passed to Ben O'Connell but his shot was saved. 

Second Half Water Break Inniscarra 1 - 6, Midleton 2 - 2.

The final quarter was where Inniscarra showed their superiority and scored four points to Midletons one, the first from Ronan O'Keeffe after good work by Aogan Quinlivan and Michael Lyons. A good hook by Trevor O'Reilly repelled a Midleton attack with the ball reaching Conor O'Sullivan who soloed up field and scored a great point. A foul on Ronan O'Keeffe led to another Niall Buckley pointed free before good work by Blaine O'Farrell got the ball to Ben O'Connell but his shot came back off the post. The last score of the match was another well taken point by Daniel O'Connor after a good pass from Conor Earle. 

Final Score INNISCARRA 1 - 10, MIDLETON 2 - 3.
