Golf Classic 2020

The annual Inniscarra GAA Golf Classic took place in Muskerry Golf Club on the 7th August 2020. A beautiful summer’s day greeted over 65 teams of enthusiastic golfers. The course, as per usual, was in great condition and it’s safe to say that everyone had a great day out.

Unfortunately this year’s Classic was played under a tinge of sadness due to the sudden passing of two great supporters of the event earlier this year. Donie O’Shea and Mike O’Sullivan were long standing supporters of Inniscarra GAA and also hugely involved in the Golf Classic. Both men always enjoyed playing in the event and it was fitting that pictures of Donie & Mike were placed on the first tee box as a reminder of their contribution to the Classic.

The organisers of the Classic would like to take this opportunity to thank all the businesses and individuals who entered a team or sponsored a tee box or a prize. Without those contributions, this year’s event wouldn’t have been the success that it was and all the support was much appreciated and the club are grateful of same. The organisers would also like to thank Muskerry Golf Club for hosting the event and especially club chairman Eugene, Joe in the bar and Lucy in the restaurant. Inniscarra GAA would also like to take this opportunity to wish Hugo Gallagher, General Manager of Muskerry Golf Club, the best of luck in his retirement.  Finally, we would like to thank everybody who helped out on the day to make this event such a success. Golf Classics do not run themselves and the club are indebted to all our volunteers.
