U13 Hurlers through to league final 2019-09-25 11:45:00

Inniscarra had a hard earned victory over Sarsfields in the Fe 13 G1 Hurling League semi final at Ballyanly on Saturday afternoon. In a low scoring game played to a very high standard, the result was in doubt up to the final whistle but Inniscarra prevailed to progress to the final.  In the first half the Inniscarra backs were outstanding with Trevor O'Reilly making a vital block down and Ben Gleeson coming to the rescue on more than one occasion to prevent certain goals. Inniscarra got the first score with a good passage of play starting from a clearance by Conor O'Sullivan to Niall Buckley onto Daniel O'Connor whose perfect pass found Sean Murphy and he scored a brilliant goal.  A good delivery by Darragh O'Brien was played by Michael Lyons who picked out Ryan Murphy and he scored  a point.  Cormac Dineen and Ronan O'Keeffe were superb at midfield ably backed up by David Linehan, Niall Buckley and Colman Aherne at half back and limited Sarsfields to one point in the first half. Half time  Inniscarra  1  -  1, Sarsfields  0  -  1.

  Sarsfields scored a fortituous goal at the start of the second half to level the scores but Inniscarra regained the lead when a good interception and clearance by Conor Earle was played upfield by Colman Aherne to Daniel O'Connor who was fouled and Niall Buckley pointed the free. Good work by Cormac Dineen and Ronan O'Keeffe got the ball to Darragh O'Brien who found Alex Neilon and he scored a very good point. Three points without reply for Sarsfields saw Inniscarra trail by a point but a good clearance by David Linehan was played on by Sean Linehan to Aogan Quinlivan who found Darragh Lyons and he was fouled with Niall Buckley pointing the free. In a frantic finish with Inniscarra backs defending heroicly Inniscarra got the vital score courtesy of a Niall Buckley free after good work by Ben O'Connell.  Final score  Inniscarra  1  -  5,  Sarsfields  1  -  4.
