Match Report for U12s Football v Valley Rovers 2021-09-11 15:06:00

Valley Rovers defeated Inniscarra by 1 - 6 to 1 - 3 in the Rebel Og Mid Fe 12 Div3 Group2 Football Shield Semi Final at Ballyanly last Sunday evening. Inniscarra got off to a good start when good defending by James Tuite got the ball to Stephen Kelleher and his pass into space was picked up by Jamie O'Mahony and he scored the first point of the match. A good pass from Tom McGillicuddy picked out Luke O'Mahony but his shot on goal was deflected for a 45. Lovely skill by Tom Walsh opened up the defence and set up Stephen Murphy for a point. Valley Rovers had a good spell but great defending by Bobby O'Halloran and Culann Harrington kept Inniscarra ahead, but Valleys did score a goal and a point before Inniscarra got the ball upfield through Ciaran Lyons and Stephen Kelleher onto Jack Browne whose pass reached Jack Murphy and he picked out Stephen Murphy with a lovely pass and he finished the ball to the net.

In the second half Inniscarra tried hard for scores but found it difficult to convert their chances. Good defending by James Tuite and Tom McGillicuddy got the ball to Bernard Kennedy who was fouled with the free kick reaching Jack Browne who played the ball to Luke O'Mahony but his shot on goal went the wrong side of the post. Tom Walsh and Culann Harrington then combined to get the ball to Shane Geaney who picked out Luke O'Mahony but his shot on goal was deflected for a 45 from which Ciaran Lyons brilliantly scored a point. Ryan Coulter in goal then made a series of first class saves before good defending by Bobby O'Halloran got the ball to Jack Murphy who returned the ball to Bobby O'Halloran but his goal attempt ended in the side netting.
