CHAMPIONSHIP WIN FOR MINOR HURLERS 2019-07-13 23:12:00

Inniscarra are through to the to the next round of the FE 18 P2 Hurling Championship after  well deserved victory over Mallow at Donoughmore on Thursday evening. Inniscarra started well enough but couldnt get the scores - a good save by the Mallow goalkeeper keeping out a Fergal O'Leary shot. A point by Padraig Holland from the right wing after a neat Mark Linehan pass was the only Inniscarra score in the first ten minutes and trailed four points to one playing with the wind. Fergal O'Leary got a point after good work by Sean Quinlivan and Sean Aherne. A foul on Mark Buckley resulted in a pointed free by Padraig Holland and then Mark scored a point after a pass from Conrad Desmond. Inniscarra now trailed by six points to four but from then on were in complete control of the game. A beautiful pass from Colin O'Leary set up Fergal O'Leary for a point and a Sean Leisk delivery found Padraig Holland for another point.. Good defending by Jack Sullivan got the ball to Fergal O'Leary and again he was on target from long range. Mark Buckley then scored two points in succession after good work by Sean McLoughlin and Stephen Linehan. A foul on Colin O'Leary resulted in a Padraig Holland pointed free and a foul on Fergal O'Leary had the same result. Neil Vaughan and Mark Linehan then combined  to get the ball to Padraig Holland for another point before Conrad Desmond set up Stephen Linehan for a point. A foul on Sean Quinlivan resulted in another Padraig Holland pointed free to leave the half time score INNISCARRA  0  -  14 ,  MALLOW  0  -  7.

  Inniscarra got a good start to the second half with Conrad Desmond setting up Joe Enright for the first point. A good clearance by Jack Sullivan was picked up by Fergal O'Leary and after a long solo run passed to Padraig Holland for a point. Good defending by Neil Vaughan and Sean McLoughlin got the ball to Sean Sheehan and he picked out Joe Enright for his second point. A well placed puck out by Evin Cunningham was caught by Mark Buckley resulting in a free which Padraig Holland converted. A brilliant catch on the goal line by Jack Sullivan from a Mallow free was sent outfield to Fergal O'Leary who was fouled and Padraig Holland was on target from the free. A foul on Oisin Morris  resulted in another Padraig Holland pointed free and Scott McIlroy combined with Fergal O'Leary to set up Padaig Holland for a point from play. Another pointed free by Padraig Holland followed after Oisin Morris was again fouled. A good clearance by Aaron O'Donovan into the forwards was picked up by Padraig Holland and he placed the ball into the corner of the net for an Inniscarra goal. At the stroke of full time Mallow scored a consolation goal to leave the final score INNISCARRA  1  -  22,  MALLOW  2  -  9.
