U12 HURLING LEAGUE INNISCARRA 4 - 6, BALLINCOLLIG 0 - 3.


At Ballyanly on Thursday evening Inniscarra had an impressive victory over Ballincollig in the Fe 12 G1 Hurling League. Ballincollig scored the first point from a free and it took Inniscarra a while to get settled. A good block down by Colm O'Herlihy was followed by a foul on David Enright with the resultant free reaching Alan Heelan but his shot was just wide. A good clearance by Conor Leisk reached Reese Murray and as he turned to shoot he was fouled with Senan Brislane converting the free. Good defensive work by Josh O'Sullivan got the ball to Jack O'Mahony and his delivery reached Reese Murray who passed it back to Jack and he was fouled with Senan Brislane taking the free which ended in the net. A long clearance by Cathal Lyons was picked up by  Alan Heelan resulting in a foul which Senan pointed. A long puck out by Ballincollig was brilliantly caught by Jack Shine and he picked out Jack O'Mahony who scored a beautiful point. Ballincollig forwards did succeed in breaching the Inniscarra defence but goalkeeper James O'Mahony came to the rescue saving brilliantly on two occasions. Half Time  INNISCARRA  1  -  3,  BALLINCOLLIG  0  -  1.  Inniscarra started the second half very well with Jack Shine winning the ball and finding Daniel Murray but his shot was just wide.  Brilliant defending Conor Gould and David Enright got the ball to Cathal Lyons and his pass picked out Colman Aherne who scored a lovely point. Good work by  Colman Aherne and Shane Maher got the ball to Colm O'Herlihy and he put the ball over the bar. A long clearance by  Conor Gould was caught by Conor Leisk and he found Colman Aherne who was through on goal but was fouled and a penalty awarded which Senan Brislane expertly finished to the net. This was followed by another goal by Senan Brislane after good work by Josh O'Sullivan, David Enright and  Ross Foley. Shane Maher and  Sean O'Sullivan combined to set up another point from Senan Brislane.
