Impressive Victory for Minor Hurlers. 2018-06-25 09:04:00

Inniscarra scored an impressive victory over Courcey Rovers at Balyanly on Monday evening in the final of the non-exam Minor Hurling League. In front of a large crowd Inniscarra gave a first class performance with every player contributing and conceded just two points from play. Owen McCarthy opened the scoring with his first point before good interlink play by Liam Ryan and Mark Buckley led to a 65 which Padraig Holland converted. Jack O'Sullivan then threaded a ball to Edward O'Connor who passed to Fergal O'Leary for his first point and then Padraig Holland caught a long puck out from Evin Cunningham and he set up Fergal for his second point. Liam Ryan and Mark Buckley combined to get Eddie O'Connor in for a point and then great defending by Ronan Twomey got the ball to Sean Sheehan who passed to Fergal O'Leary for his third point. A good Courceys attack was brilliantly broken up by Cillian Murphy who got the ball to Padraig Holland and he scored a long range point and he followed w ith another point from a free after a foul on Frankie Horgan. A long clearance by Eoin O'Herlihy was picked up by Owen McCarthy and he split the posts and he repeated the feat after good work by Colin O'Leary and he the scored yet another point after a great delivery by Frankie Horgan. Half time  INNISARRA  0  -  11,  COURCEY ROVERS  0  -  5. Stephen Linehan opened the second half scoring with a lovely point after good work by Colin O'Leary and Eddie O'Connor. More good work by Colin led to another point by Owen McCarthy before Padraig Holland scored a long range point after good work by Eoin O'Herlihy. Mark Buckley then set up Fergal O'Leary for a point and he then set up Eddie O'Connor for a point. A beautiful pass from Colin O'Leary to Stephen Linehan led to another point followed by a Padraig Holland point after a good clearance by Jack O'Sullivan. Then Owen McCarthy scored yet another point before Sean Sheehan made a long run out of defence and put the ball between the posts. Frankie Horgan then scored a long range point and Padraig Holland pointed a free.
